Why is it not price gouging when the gas prices skyrocket due to a Hurricane?
Hm…you cannot inflate the price of flashlights, water, generators and such after a state of emergency is called in. Then why is it that the oil companies are able to inflate the gas prices to such ridiculous amounts? Is that not price gouging? All these people need to evacuate an area to get away from a DEADLY storm, and the gas companies jack up the price of gas. Obviously GAS is the main thing they need to purchase to get the heck out of harms way. And you can’t tell me that “Oh, we need to prepare in case the oil rigs get destroyed”. How does anyone know the oil rigs are going to get destroyed. And percentage wise, of all the oil rigs in the whole entire world, how many could possibly get destroyed by the storm? This is just the oil companies ways of screwing us all once again. They do it over and over and over and over and over and over and over again! When is someone going to do something about this? When is this kind of act going to be classified as price gouging?
